He Still Strengthens

From Yara Armenta

Philippians 4:13 is a well known verse that tends to be applied when facing challenges in life.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Paul was in the middle of awaiting trail in Rome when he wrote Philippians 4. Not knowing the sentencing, he still was encouraged and knew that despite of the circumstances, God would give him the strength. It is easy to apply this verse when a known trial is coming. But what about when the trial is unknown? Or when it is 6 months in and everything has been going wrong? God continues to strengthen in those moments. By God’s love and strength we stand here today as testimonies of holding on tightly to His hand.

God knew how tough the hardships would be and left us an Amazing Helper. “But The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things I said to you” (John 14:26 NKJV). It is important to constantly be dwelling in His word to keep His Spirit close to each of our hearts.

God reminds us constantly in His Word to “not be afraid.” How gracious is He to have us read it every so often to be reminded that He truly is in control. So yes, even when everything seems to be going wrong, God still strengthens. How gracious is He that He purposely puts friends and loved ones in our lives to help us when things seem hopeless.

Be reminded that God’s strength is everlasting and His love in unconditional. Truly reside in Him and allow Him to have full control of situations, trials, emotions, and all aspects of life.
