How to Best Serve God

From Elder Mike

Matthew 25:34-46

In this passage, Jesus speaks to a group of people on the right telling them to inherit the kingdom prepared for them. He then goes on to say, "For I was an hungred, and ye gave Me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave Me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took Me in: Naked, and ye clothed Me: I was sick, and ye visited Me: I was in prison, and ye came unto Me." The righteous answered Him, asking in summary, "When did we do all of these things for You?" Jesus responded saying that if they had done it for anyone else, then they had done it unto Him. He then condemned the wicked ones saying that it was because they did none of those things for others.

Are you able to serve in every ministry in the church or serve every person in Sahuarita/Green Valley? NO. So how do you know where to serve? Read Proverbs 3:5-10 which partially states, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."

You must ask God what ministry to serve in. You must know that it is what God has told you to do. You all have many giftings and talents. Ask God which ones to use where. If you only do what you want to do, you may become offended with the other imperfect people that you serve with. If you do what God tells you to do, and you do it as unto the Lord, you will be able to look past those imperfections. God WILL equip and empower you to do what He has called you to do.
