Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest
From Pastor Tim Olof
Matthew 11:28
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Jesus showed His authority when He said, "Come to Me." This invitation is unthinkable in the mouth of anyone else but God. Church, I ask you to be alert when any man will call people to himself instead of to Jesus. May we always direct people to Jesus.
Matthew 11:29
“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Yoke-to join, a coupling, serving to couple two things together
The yoke of Jesus is easy and light as compared with the yoke of others.
The yoke of Jesus is easy and light as long as we do not rebel against it.
The yoke of Jesus has nothing to do with worries that are forbidden to us.
The yoke of Jesus does not include the burdens we choose to add to it.
There is a place of intimacy with Jesus that far surpasses anything this world can give, and in that intimacy, there is safety and comfort.
Jesus is asking you to go to Him and find rest.
Matthew 11:30
“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
God Bless you, Church.
Love,
Tim
