From Yara Armenta
Being a young adult, I have heard many life stories and testimonies from both peers and those older than me about how God has changed their lives.
I was once in a Bible study group that was international and had young Latin Americans from all over the world come together to read the Bible via video call. I remember that one night they had asked us to pray and ask God to see if we would share our testimonies. I had a friend in the group at the time, and we would elaborate separately about what was spoken. I remember her hesitance about sharing her testimony, and I had expressed the same sentiment at the time. There was a photo that popped up on my social media that caused me to say yes and also encouraged her to step forward with her testimony.
This picture said, "Don't be ashamed of your testimony. Somebody needs the part of your story that you’re ashamed of. Someone needs to know that if He will do it for you, He can do it for them.” Being ashamed is where the enemy gets power and gets control of your thoughts. So, don’t be ashamed of where God has taken you out from or what He has helped you through.
In 2 Timothy 1:8-9, we can see how Paul encouraged others though he was in prison. He asked, “Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began..."(NKJV)
How can we make disciples to make disciples? Share your testimony. Share your sufferings and rejoicings. Share how God’s hand has not left you even when situations seem to turn for the worse. Share your faith, not to exalt yourself, but to bring all the glory and honor to God. Share what God puts in your heart because there is one person who He is trying to reach out and minister to through you.
