Is Anything too Small to Bring Before The Lord in Prayer?
From Elder Mike Harris
In Proverbs 3:5-6 it says, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In (all) thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." God wants us to have an intimate relationship with Him. That requires lots of communication with Him, constantly aware of His presence in our day to day activities. Talk to him about where to go, what to buy, "Where are my keys?" God cares as much about the small things as He does the bigger things (as we judge them to be) - houses, cars, illness, jobs, etc.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." Praying with out ceasing is considering God's opinion in everything you do.
Psalm 37:3-6 says, "Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. And He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgement as the noonday." When we delight in someone, we want to be in their presence and talking with them as much as possible.
Jeremiah 9:23-24 says, "Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches. But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgement, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord." In order to understand and know God, you must spend time with Him, both in your prayer closet and in your day to day.
