The Mighty Hand of God
From Pastor Shemalya King
“Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.” Jeremiah 18:2
Have you ever found yourself in a specific place and noticed that “destiny” brought you there–that God had ordained that VERY place to begin to speak with you? Sometimes a location and what is transpiring at the location can drastically change the way you view your life.
God called Jeremiah to the potter's house–a specific location. There, He was going to speak with him. Jeremiah showed up. Sometimes you just need to show up TO where God is calling you. When Jeremiah arrived at the potter's house, he saw the potter working on a piece of pottery: it was still on the wheel being guided in his hands. Still in his hands, the vessel marred. If you will, notice that the vessel was messing up, but still in the hands of the potter.
Have you ever started messing up and began to be frightened and anxious because you felt that you were finally getting out of the control of God's hands? Well, God knew then that His people had that concern, and He still knows that His people have that concern. Therefore, God sent His prophet back then to a specific location to show him specific revelation that is still true.
The potter took THE SAME lump of clay and made a better vessel, one that seemed good to the potter to make. Imagine Jeremiah just looking at the work that was going on. It was like a field trip to the potter's house, amusing but that's it. It was only amusing, until God began to speak. As Jeremiah was watching the potter, the LORD began to speak. Not only do I believe that you're going to get a revelation out of this passage of scripture that I'm sharing, but I prophesy that God's going to use location and demonstration to speak to you. ALL of God's creation testifies of Him (Romans 1:20).
Look at what God said, “O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel” Jeremiah 18:6.
Brother, sister, you may have messed up royally, but God is still in control. He can take your messed up life and do a NEW thing. You're never so far gone that God can't fix you. He'll take the SAME VESSEL–the bad one–and make a good one (one that seems good to Him). Repent from your wickedness; you're still in God's hands. I prophesy to you, He's gonna make you flawless.
