The Physician’s Patients

I'm not sure if you knew this or not, but sin is a sickness. All who are under the power of sin, in any fashion, are sick and in need of healing. Sin is the number one sickness in all of creation where there is ONLY one cure.
Jesus indirectly identified Himself as a physician when addressing the judgmental scribes and Pharisees. They were scrutinizing Him for eating with publicans and sinners. Jesus said, “They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” Mark 2:17.
Not only is sin the number one sickness where there is only one cure, but also only one Physician has the cure. His name is Dr. Jesus. Curing sin begins with the patient's act of repenting, from the heart, and ends with the Physician's prescription–forgiveness of sin.
As you can conclude, the Physician's patients are sinners. He cures ALL who come to Him (John 6:37-38). Not one does He turn down as long as “His office” is open. Those who don't come for healing during “office hours” are sadly turned away into eternal misery. There will come a day when the Physician will close His practice (Matthew 25:1-13).
Because He cures those who come to Him, it's bad practice for His patients to smear His name with lies, saying that they were not healed after coming to Him. The ONLY way that is true is that they did not repent from the heart (Simon the sorcerer is a great example of an uncured patient–Acts 8:9-25).
